How to Design Unique Wedding Rings

Most women, other than those who pine to imitate royalty or whatever is most popular in fashion shows, prefer wedding rings that are unique and unlike those their friend or associates have. At the same time, they do not want their rings to be too different. It is for this reason that selecting wedding rings can be a frustrating experience. But it doesn’t have to be. For those who would like to design a unique wedding ring, here is a short how to guide.
The first thing to consider when designing a unique wedding ring is how well it will coordinate with other pieces of jewelry she will wear, such as stud earrings. This is important because unique wedding rings often deviate from what is considered to be conventional wedding jewelry. For this reason, the first step a bride should take is to choose material used to make the band.
Brides who would like to avoid precious metals because of the historic problems with the mining industry could use recycled precious metals which have been out of those problematic regions for some time. In addition, it is a great way to show your affinity to the environmentally conscious as well as a way to save money which can be used later for an anniversary gift of some kind. Some other options include steel or tungsten, but also lacquered wood, which often are as sturdy as a precious metal.
The next step is to decide is regarding engravings. In the late 16th and 17th centuries, it was popular to engraved both engagement and wedding rings with poetry as a romantic way of declaring fidelity. Today, the text of wedding oaths and even the names of the couples are just as popular as poetry and sometimes can be even more meaningful. If you should decide to engrave text, keep in mind that other designs will be difficult to engrave, especially if they involve molding the ring to look like a shape such as Celtic knots.

If there will be no engravings, consider engraving a symbol that is important to you, such as a religious symbol. Or as an alternative, consider something that displays your heritage. Celtic symbols such as knots are symbols that have crossed cultures and can be found all over the world.
Finally, if you decide to not make use of any of these options, you may set gemstones such as diamonds in it. One way to use diamonds in a creative manner that will create a unique wedding is to use an older diamond cut or leave the diamonds in the rough, mimicking the old poesy rings popular in the 17th century.
